ADTR 10301NAT Certificate 1 in Dance Techniques Integrating Aboriginal Dance


Achievement of eight units of competence is required for completion of 10301NAT Certificate 1 in Dance Techniques Integrating Aboriginal Dance. The units of competence for completion are as follows:


COMPULSORY

Develop basic Modern Dance Techniques
Develop Locomotors Movement skills
Develop basic Jazz Dance Techniques
Develop basic understanding of styles and forms of Music
Develop writing skills in Dance Terminology

Brief Information on ADTR Programs

Aboriginal Dance Theatre Redfern (ADTR) is a non-profit community based organisation, specialising in delivering Dance Education to Indigenous Children & youth in a wide range of age groups in Australia.

ADTR Education Programs are:

Saturday & After school Dance program -
ADTR provides free dance and kickboxing classes for children & Youth on Saturday Mornings and After-school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. These classes consist of Jazz Creative, Modern Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Drama and Self Defence Kickboxing classes. ADTR delivers quality dance classes and promotes dance to the Regional and Remote Communities of NSW. ADTR teaches different forms of dance to Aboriginal and non Aboriginal children & Youth.

Dance Education & Training program:

- 10301NAT Certificate 1 In Dance Techniques Integrating Aboriginal Dance.
- 10302NAT Certificate I1 Studies in Dance Performance Integrating Aboriginal Dance. />The full-time, Dance Certificate courses - ADTR provides Dance Education Training programs to young Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander person age between the age 16 - 24 for the opportunity to gain skills in the performing arts together with an understanding of Aboriginal culture


Dance Outreach Program

ADTR Dance Outreach Program- ADTR delivers Aboriginal Dance Education to regional and rural communities for schools,community groups/organisations, various functions and festivals. ADTR provides Dance Classes, Workshops, and Performances in Traditional and contemporary dance targeting schools and community groups. A wide range of dance from creative, jazz/Hip-hop , Modern and appropriate Aboriginal Dances, are taught by qualified experienced dance teachers.



Women’s keep fit program
Physical fitness classes for women are created to increase body flexibility and strength. Exercises from correct breathing to the improvement of muscle tone are integrated in a gentle movement system and classes are friendly and safe.


The community support program

- ADTR provides generous support to our people through a Free Bus Service for Funerals, Free Studio Hire, Free Dance performance and Workshop to the Indigenous and non Indigenous Community. This is the centre piece community support program and highlights ADTR's contribution and support to the local community



Workshop –Performances Interstates

Aboriginal Dance Theatre creates and develops dance and culture programs to continuously raise the standards and qualities of dance, as an art form. The professional dance services, contribute to profile the input of professional work and achieve a high degree of professional standard. Wherever and whenever ADTR conducts projects and events culture is always integrated, this increases the growing awareness of cultural environment.
